Know exactly who is handling your freight, before it moves.
Businesses are tracking their freight. However they don’t always know who is handling it. That blind spot costs the industry billions. Cargo crime across EMEA has risen 438% in three years. Carrier impersonation has become one of the fastest-growing forms of cargo theft. Criminals pose as legitimate businesses to intercept freight or divert payments. The exploit is always the same: criminals look legitimate but they’re not.

Why we built it
Trustd was established in 2020 by Lyall Cresswell, who also founded Transport Exchange Group (TEG) in 2000. After more than two decades running freight-matching infrastructure used by 12,000+ logistics businesses, Lyall kept hitting the same structural problem: thousands of companies transacting with one another, with no reliable way to verify who they were dealing with.
The turning point came around 2018, when we were watching how you can open a bank account with biometric identity verification in minutes on a phone screen. If that could work for banking, the same principles could transform how logistics businesses onboard carriers, verify drivers, and manage compliance. But logistics is harder. It requires verifying the business, the individual, their authorisation for a specific job, and a full layer of certifications, insurances, and licences, each with its own expiry dates and rules that vary by country.
We built Trustd to manage all of it in one place.
“Supply chain operators know what is moving and when. But they don’t always know who. That blind spot is costing the industry billions.” Lyall Cresswell, CEO and Founder

What we have proven
UK Government certified
In April 2025, Trustd became the first digital identity platform in transport and logistics certified under the UK Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework (DIATF). We can conduct "right to work" checks and issue certified digital identities.
Verifiable insurance credentials
Through our partnership with the insurance broker Business Choice Direct (BCD), we launched the sector's first verifiable insurance credentials, giving any third party instant, fraud-proof confirmation of valid cover.
European expansion
In June 2026, we launched Know Your Carrier, a web-based tool that gives shippers and 3PLs an instant risk signal on any carrier quoting for work via email. Rolling out across 27 European countries.
Built on 26 years of freight infrastructure
Built on 26 years of freight infrastructure, Trustd is already rolled out across 12,000 verified operators in the UK, EU, and US with industry-first initiatives including Trustd Loads, real-time network risk monitoring, and verifiable insurance credentials..

More than 10,000 logistics businesses across the UK use Trustd today. We operate in the UK, Europe, and the United States.
Where this goes
Identity verification in logistics is no longer a back-office formality. Regulators are enforcing harder. Insurers are demanding accountability. Distributed networks need verifiable trust at every handoff. We think that the question is not whether verification becomes standard across the supply chain. It is who builds the network that makes it work.
The more operators verified through Trustd, the stronger the intelligence becomes for everyone. That network effect is what we are building.

Testimonials
The impact was instant, especially for the clients that we had worked with for a number of years on high-value and important products, because they could literally scan the driver's phone and check that it was the correct person collecting, with the details we had provided before the collection was booked.
Lee Gueller, Director, Red Rocket
The biometric face scan guarantees that the person collecting is the driver that we have chosen to collect, and not a rogue actor who could harm our business.
