Know exactly who is handling your freight, before it moves.
Stolen and fabricated identities are putting transport networks at risk, driving a 438% rise in EMEA cargo theft. Criminals impersonating legitimate carriers and drivers find the weakest link in your operations. By embedding identity verification at the moments that matter – carrier onboarding, freight handovers, and payments – you can protect your transport network, your freight, and your reputation.

Why we built it
Trustd was established in 2020 by Lyall Cresswell, who also founded Transport Exchange Group (TEG) in 2000. After more than two decades running freight-matching infrastructure used by 15,000+ logistics businesses, Lyall kept hitting the same structural problem: thousands of companies transacting with one another, with no reliable way to verify who they were dealing with.
The turning point came around 2018, when we were watching how you can open a bank account with biometric identity verification in minutes on a phone screen. If that could work for banking, the same principles could transform how logistics businesses onboard carriers, verify drivers, and manage compliance. But logistics is harder. It requires verifying the business, the individual, their authorisation for a specific job, and a full layer of certifications, insurances, and licences, each with its own expiry dates and rules that vary by country.
We built Trustd to manage all of it in one place.
“Transport operators know what is moving and when. But they don’t always know who. That blind spot is costing the industry billions.” Lyall Cresswell, CEO and Founder

More than 15,000 logistics operators across the UK use Trustd today. We operate in the UK, Europe, and the United States.
Where this goes
Identity verification is necessary because regulators are increasing enforcement and insurers are demanding clear accountability.
We believe the question is not whether verification becomes standard across the industry, it is simply a question of when we, collectively, can create a verification network that ensures freight is secure.
The more operators verified through Trustd, the stronger the network becomes for everyone.
